Privacy
The site is static and has no accounts, advertising, affiliate tracking, or active newsletter processor. It uses self-hosted, cookie-free analytics to understand which planning tools visitors use.
Analytics
We run a self-hosted Umami analytics instance (stats.gaspode.dev). It counts page views without cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and shares nothing with ad networks. We also count destination and camera clicks, filter use, and comparisons. Events may include selected destination names or countries and the number of shortlisted places. We do not send the text you type into destination search as an analytics event. Session recording has been removed.
Search and filters run in your browser. Comparison links store selected destination slugs in the URL fragment so you can bookmark or share them; anyone you share that link with can see those selections. No account is needed.
Newsletter status
There is no newsletter signup on the site today: the "email alerts are coming" note is plain text and no page collects or retains an email address. Before alerts launch, the plan is to use Buttondown with double opt-in, document Buttondown as the processor, state the retention rule, and test unsubscribe end to end. None of that setup is represented as complete today.
Embedded video
YouTube content is not loaded until you select the load button. If you do, the page contacts `youtube-nocookie.com`; YouTube's own privacy terms then apply. A plain outbound link is always provided.
Outbound links
Camera and citation links open third-party sites. Those sites have their own logging and privacy practices.
